Over 3 years ago we worked with Mary to get her piggery up and running. Mary had had a tough life. And when her husband passed it became even tougher. Fast forward to today. Mary’s pigs have produced over 300 piglets each sold for an average price of $40. Well, you can do the maths on what she has earned. And in a society where the average annual income is $1,400, Mary is doing OK. No doubt many of you have met Mary if you have been on our GO GRANNY GO program. And when she received the first ever payment of about $500 dollars we asked her what she was going to do with the money. She said she was going to do something that she hadn’t been able to afford before. That is, buy a bus ticket to go and see her sister who she hadn’t seen in years!
