We would like to share the feedback we have received from travellers who have participated in a One Horizon experience with our communities.
While our focus is our sustainable programs that work to lift women and the aged out of poverty, we always believed there was a ‘fit’ between our work and what travellers wanted to experience – that is, to meet real people and particularly those challenged by life and to play a part in helping the poor.
Connect – Contribute – Change
As such, we launched our One Horizon people safaris, which connect travellers with Kenyans in our communities.
Our decision to expand One Horizon to include our Holidays That Change Lives has proved a win-win-win. Our travellers and the Kenyans whom they meet are both winners because their connections are life-changing as they forge bonds, exchange cultural insights and share stories and experiences. The communities with whom we partner to deliver our sustainable initiatives are also winners because our people safari fees help fund our Programs That Change Lives.
In our last 30 reviews posted on Trip Advisor, all except 1 of our visitors have awarded us 5 stars (Excellent). Our sustainable programs in grass-root communities have been overwhelmingly endorsed by travellers. And travellers have been important as a key partner through their support of One Horizon.
