WHAT DO WILDEBEEST & ONE HORIZON TRAVELLERS SHARE IN COMMON?

Have you ever looked out into your backyard and seen a wildebeest? Well occasionally at One Horizon we do. That’s one of the great things about Kenya.

And the first wildebeest herds that cross the Mara River are followed by more than 2 million others that move to the greener pastures over the border. The migration occurs during July and August. Not only does the herd have to navigate the treacherous Mara river, but it tends to be a bit of a feast for the crocodiles.

The wildebeest migration is one of nature’s wonders that attracts another migratory herd – tourists who flock in their hundreds of thousands to observe what is an awesome sight. Of course their journey is not as treacherous as that of the wildebeest and they fall under the spell of magical Kenya.

Most want to give back so they come to One Horizon as part of their African sojourn.  An interesting fact is that whilst most come to see the wildebeest herds more than 60% of people who visited One Horizon in recent years had visited us on up to three previous occasions and book more safaris as well.

Like the wildebeest, our travellers keep coming back to connect in meaningful ways with the people of Kenya. That tells you something about the good intentions of people and how they want to become involved to help others through our sustainable safaris. Of course we are so grateful that they do.
