A Spectacular Helicopter Flight
Cottage 1
Cottage One is family sized with two large interconnecting bedrooms which sleep up to 6 with a shared ensuite bathroom between them. It’s large, beautiful and light bathroom has two sinks and an expansive shower and an outdoor plunge tub overlooking the salt lick where the wildlife comes to visit. Every day the wildlife visits the salt lick and Nilotica is surrounded by wrap around verandas which provide views of the conservancy, the Aberdares mountains and the Ewaso Nyiro river.
Cottage 2
Cottage 2 is river facing and has a large double/twin bedroom with plenty of space for an extra bed if needed. Surrounded by a yoga-style veranda it has a stone patio for private family moments. The cottage is favoured by the bush buck and dik dik as well as the magical bird life for which the lodge is known. A perfect place for an intergenerational family on an amazing Kenyan experience.
A Great Choice of Activities
Guests at Nilotica House have their own game drive vehicle with a private guide. And with a broad range of activities to choose from, the emphasis is getting out and enjoying the freedom of this incredible wildlife and safari area. Parents and children can opt for a four-wheel safari, or guided game walks or half day game drives and night drives. Bush meals can be had under the stars, while fishing and fly camping, garden tours and and farm visits are great entertainers. And one cannot forget that filming and photography and specialized children’s activities are all part of what makes Nilotica so special. And it doesn’t end there for there is clay sculpting, tracking and cast making available for everyone to indulge in.
The Private Patio – A Place to Meet and Relax
A large patio is a meeting place for a family group or group of friends enjoying Nilotica and a great place to catch up and reflect on the day’s activities. Whether it’s indulging in morning or afternoon teas, the charm of the interconnecting walkway brings people together to enjoy the views from the patio which overlooks the river.
The Spaciousness and Elegance of Nilotica

Another inspirational day – A unique African experience in a traditional Masai village What an incredible day spent with this traditional Maasai family. They shared their stories and I listened with tears in my eyes. We spent the morning with Daniel and his son Emanuel. Daniel has 50 siblings!!! Emanuel explained the cultural journey from boyhood to manhood and his mother, later in the day, shared her experience. The practice of circumcision continues today. It is a day I will remember forever and their stories will remain in my heart. Caroline, our guide also shared her remarkable story. The work done by One Horizon is nothing short of life changing for these people. I would recommend anyone travelling to Nairobi to be a part of one of these experiences. The money paid for these trips go into the program.
